There's always someone who gives you one. U just have to live with audience's taste and can't force your own upon them. Also we don't have that many trolls on toonpool. I only know of one.

But if that's the case, comments help also.
I have had colleagues and readers alike pointing at things they don't like or don't understand in some of my cartoons, and many, many times they have been absolutely right about it.
And it's appreciated.
So why not use the comments option to get your point across if needed?
I don't recall any 1 star rater offering any explanation about the rating.
Not that they are supposed or expected to do it, but the fact that they post their lone star and leave doesn't help us understanding what their rationale was.

very good choice.
i guess all cartoonists work to show their toons and expect some criticism, not to bother with ratings.
yet the system is not perfect and somehow empowers trolls.

Thank you for this topic. I've noticed that many awarded for tactical reasons, a bad evaluation.
I award five stars or not. With no star, I don`t like the cartoon without making him ill!
We face a competition! But awarding of stars with a comment whether one or five is more honest!
Incidentally, I find my own often Cartoons shit!
I wish me to deal with each other respectfully and honestly would expire.
Finally, we shed a lot of heart blood, sweat when creating our images.

I know it from school. 1 is the best grade.
But on the other hand, 5 is more than 1 !?!
And what if the 3 is the best, because it is in the middle of all and 5 and 1 is off target?
And what if all the stars are just a mirage!?
