why is bothering people?
To say it from my perspective: I don't think that many of the anti-votes where done because of a fear of Islam. I believe most of the Swiss people are open for any religion. But regarding your bothering-question: I send the Jehova's Witnesses away and I'm not interested in any contact with the Christian church - just because I don't care. If the Buddhist church would like to place a house with a giant gong in the capital of Suisse, which would be played every morning at 6 o'clock, I think the citizens would be upset or thoughtful about it, too. Many of the "western world" people do not have a big approach to any form of religion, and hence don't want to be bothered by it.
