Packaged Dolphin Meat Caricature
#201046 / viewed 4818 timesSome people do not eat meat out of ideological reasons. Others do not eat seafood. Whatever your penchant, one thing is for sure: You probably do not make a habit of buying canned dolphin meat, even if you eat the mahi-mahi variety of "flying dolphin" which is common and popular in the Hawaiian islands, among other pacific places. This editorial cartoon, of course, casts a net over the aspersions of hypocrites who can justify one type of carnivorous appetite over another. Meat is meat. Protein is protein. Something had to die for another being to consume it. Of course, maybe we will all live to see "food replicators" akin to what was commonplace on Star Trek : The Next Generation. Until then, we have to take our reality in perspective, and laugh at little at ourselves for being so human. For some, it seems like an endless conflict between the good, the bad and the tasty. For me, it seems like dinnertime. Except I really don't want to eat Flipper. I want to train Flipper to bring me a healthy meal, and I'd like to outfit him with a waterproof internet device that would let him interact with me when he's swimming around freely. Of course, that kind of device might cause him other problems, so forget it. Meanwhile I'll just enjoy this color commentary which was first fished out of the water on May 26, 2013 by optionsclick for the internet investor who likes to chuckle before, during and after a good binary trading session and a tasty bite of the steak of the sea.
