Russia’s Supreme Court has barred the liberal Yabloko party from taking part in the September 2026 parliamentary elections. Yabloko is the only officially registered Russian party that openly opposes Moscow’s war in Ukraine. The case was brought by the pro-Kremlin Rodina party, which accused Yabloko of receiving undeclared campaign support, including alleged foreign backing. Yabloko denies the allegations and plans to appeal the ruling.

The decision further reduces political pluralism ahead of the elections, in which pro-Kremlin parties are expected to dominate. Yabloko currently has only a small number of regional seats and no representation in the State Duma.
