Citizenship Amendment Bill 2016 will be introduced in the Rajya Sabha after passing in the Lok Sabha. On Tuesday, it was passed in the Lok Sabha amidst heavy ruckus. The law of 1955 has been amended with the bill. This will prepare the way for citizenship of people of non-Muslims (Hindu, Sikh, Jain, Buddhist, Parsi and Christian) in Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan.
