Twitter is a recent edition to the social networking scene. It provides subscribers with a platform for what has been called micro-blogging in real time. Users can send messages via a short message system which is limited to 140 characters per message. You can follow others on the system and or be followed by those who which to subscribe to your feeds, also called "tweets". The debate goes on as to if twitter and other competitive technologies are useful or simply a useless waste of time. Many who engage in online marketing have embraced twitter as a means of providing followers with instant updates.
